An at home family "Bethlehem Dinner”

A New Family Tradition

This Christmas, our family did a "Bethlehem Dinner," something we saw as a simple, fun evening where we step out of the rush of the season and into the story that started it all. The kids dress in costumes inspired by the first Christmas, and we gather around a Mediterranean-style meal, similar to what might have been shared in Bethlehem long ago. No plates, no chairs, and no light other than candlelight. It was a great way of slowing down, remembering the humility and hope of the Christmas story, and creating a space where faith, imagination, and togetherness come alive. It felt like the start of than just a tradition, it was also a reminder that the greatest gift was given quietly, around a table, in the company of family.
